Summer On The Patio
Featuring:
MUD by Maria Irene Fornes
IRONBOUND by Martyna Majok
THE PAVILION by Craig Wright
Tickets are free submission, with a suggested donation.
We are excited to welcome audiences back to the theatre with our Summer on the Patio series! As an ensemble, we read countless plays together during the lockdown, and have chosen three contemporary scripts to spend the summer workshopping.
As part of our commitment to being better neighbors and getting to know our community, the entire rehearsal process will be open to the public, and performances will be free to all.
We will be exploring IRONBOUND by Martyna Majok, an intimate story of an immigrant woman’s fight to survive in the United States, MUD by Maria Irene Fornes, a contemporary classic delving into poverty and emancipatory feminism that is ultimately undercut, and THE PAVILION by Craig Wright, an existential treatise on ordinary life rife with poetry and humor.
Schedule:
June rehearsals will be via Zoom while the work is “at the table,” continuing with in-person rehearsals in July, and culminating in performances come August.
July rehearsals will be held in person, as well as August performances at the outdoor patio space of our new location: 3054 N. Milwaukee Ave Chicago, IL 60618.
